Connecting to CCIS-XNet

This article explains how to connect to the CCIS-XNet network at the Northeastern University College of Computer and Information Science in building West Village H using the Ubuntu Linux operating system. This is not an official Northeastern University web site, and all instructions here should be followed at your own risk, with no guarentee as to their effects.

CCIS Account

In order to connect to CCIS-XNet, you must have a CCIS account. It must be created in person at the systems office in West Village H.

Adding CCIS-XNet

Edit your wireless network connections. There are two ways to do this. The easiest way is to right-click on the wireless network icon at the top-right of the screen and select Edit Connections.

Alternately, you can navigate there from the System menu by selecting System > Preferences > Network Connections.

Make sure you are on the Wireless tab. Click the Add button.

Enter the following information under the Wireless tab:

Now move to the Wireless Security tab and enter the following:

Now just click Apply and you are done! You should be able to connect to the CCIS-XNet wireless network.
